Boot camp honors memory of boy killed in boating accident

A few dozen people took part in a boot camp workout fundraiser Saturday morning in memory of 8-year-old Blake Goshen, the boy killed in a boating accident last month on Lake Wylie.

Police try to identify man hit by train in Moore County

Moore County authorities need help identifying a man hit that was hit by a train around 12:30 p.m. Saturday near Rays Mill Road in Aberdeen. Police say the man, possibly named Frank, tried to save his dog when it ran in front of the train.

New cycling markers in south Charlotte

Some cyclists participating in the 24 Hours of Booty saw something they've never seen before. In a short section along the route Charlotte transportation crews stamped new cycling markers on the road.

Teen driver killed in high-speed crash with tree

A 15-year-old driver was killed in a wreck Friday night in Stanly County. Troopers say the boy was driving at about 80 mph on Polk Ford Road near Stanfield, when he ran off the road and into a tree. His 18-year-old cousin was treated and released.
